Coarse pores what exactly are they?
Pores are small or large openings of the sweat glands in the skin. They secrete both Talg (sebaceous glands) and fluid (sweat glands). Often these pores are found around the nose, forehead, chin and cheeks.
When the skin secretes a lot of sebum, the pores are wide open and can easily become clogged.
Dry skin has few pores, while combination skin shows many pores on the T Zone (forehead, nose and chin). We see the most coarse pores in oily skin.
Causes of coarse pores
- Coarse pores are genetic.
- Polluted skin, excessive sebum or makeup residue left on the skin stretches it, making it easier to see.
- Decrease in elasticity.
- Decrease in amount of collagen, causing pore walls to sag
- Heavy make-up
- Sagging sweat glands
- Smoking, where the skin receives less oxygen and the skin ages faster.
What can you do yourself to reduce it?
- Cleanse skin every morning and evening with appropriate cleanser and toner
- Drink 2 liters of water every day
- Use retinoid products. Scientifically proven to have a positive impact on the proper functioning of pores.
- Smoking cessation
- Use sebum-absorbing products such as clay masks.
- Use dietary supplements that are full of antioxidants and cell nourishing ingredients
